STATEMENT OF HRH CROWN PRINCE ALEXANDER II
ON THE OCCASION OF INAUGURATION OF THE CONSTITUTION OF SERBIA

Dear Citizens of Serbia,

I congratulate you on the inauguration of the Constitution.

The new Constitution is an important step forward towards the crowning of democracy in Serbia. Since this Constitution does not solve the issue of the form of government, the Crown will continue to work on transforming Serbia into a modern Constitutional Parliamentary Monarchy, deeply believing that Serbia, as a young democracy, needs the King who is the meeting point, the symbol of unity and continuity and the defender of democracy.

Serbia must move ahead. I want to serve Serbia.
