CROWN PRINCE ALEXANDER II AT THE
EXHIBITION OPENING IN THE ITALIAN CULTURAL CENTRE IN
BELGRADE
Belgrade,
6 December 2006 – HRH Crown Prince Alexander II participated
in the opening of the exhibition of antique sculpture in the
newly opened Italian Cultural Centre in Belgrade.
The guests were addressed by HE Italian Ambassador in
Belgrade Mr. Alessandro Merola,
HRH Crown Prince Alexander II,
and Mrs. Alessandra Bertini Malagrini, ICC General Manager.
In his speech, Crown Prince once again expressed gratitude
to the Italian government for cooperation on the project of
restoration of
Jacopo Palma
Vecchio’s
painting “The Holy Family With St.
Catherine, St. John and Donor”, which is kept in the
Royal Palace in Belgrade and is considered one of the
most important works of Italian art in Serbian collections.
Beside many representatives of Belgrade cultural life, the
opening was also attended by HE Ambassador of Israel Mrs.
Yaffa Ben-Ari.
Exibition dubbed
“Childhood” is the exhibition of
sculptures and frieze panels originating from different
Italian museums. It was prepared by the Italian Ministry of
Culture through the General Directorate for Archaeology of
Italy.
Italian Cultural Centre (ICC) has plans for cooperation
with Serbian institutions such as The Gallery of
Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, where exhibition
of Italian 20th century art will be held in
spring. |
