CHILDREN FROM KOSOVO VISIT ROYAL PALACES
Belgrade, 22 December 2006 – HRH Crown Princess Katherine
Foundation organized yesterday and three days ago, on St. Nicholas Day, tours of
the Royal Palaces for children who came from Kosovo to participate at St.
Nicholas Children Gathering, and delivered to children small presents from Crown
On St. Nicholas Day, the group of children participants of
the first Orthodox Fair who won at the literary competition called Letters from
the Enclaves, visited the Royal Palaces and received the set of books about HM
King Peter I and gifts from the Foundation.
The second group of children, who came from Serbian enclave
Osojani, visited the Royal Palaces today accompanied by the Programme Organizer
of the St. Nicholas Children Gathering Mrs. Ljiljana Dugalić. They received toys
and sweets from HRH Crown Princess Katherine Foundation, while their teacher
Dušanka Radulović received sets of books for Radoš Tošić School library.
As the patron of the Orthodox Fair, which was organized for
the first time in Serbia by the publishing company Zvonik as part of St.
Nicholas Children Gathering, HRH Crown Princess Katherine has sent a warm letter
of support, since she was not able to attend the opening due to obligations
“My husband and I extend our most sincere congratulations and
greetings to everyone gathered at this special event. We wholeheartedly support
the initiative of the organizers and thank them for giving a chance to all these
people at the Fair of Orthodoxy to show their work, such as publishing of
orthodox literature and books about Serbian tradition and history, handicrafts
from monasteries, objects and robes for liturgy, altarpieces, bells, and many
other different objects coming from workshops which preserve traditional ways of
production. I am convinced that the works of these fine masters will be enjoyed
by many,” HRH Crown Princess Katherine stated in her letter of support read at
the opening ceremony of the Orthodox Fair
