GIFTS FOR CHILDREN OF THE ISLAMIC COMMUNITY AT THE WHITE
PALACE
Belgrade, 4 January 2007 – Their Royal Highnesses Crown
Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine, in cooperation with Mr.
Mustafa Jusufspahić, Imam of Niš, organized a reception for children of the
Islamic Community at The White Palace on the occasion of the great Islamic
holiday, Kurban-Bajram.
More than 200 children ranging from one to 12 years of age
gathered at The White Palace today, celebrating Kurban-Bajram.
HRH Crown Princess Katherine Foundation provided gifts for
children, and Pedjolino, the famous children entertainer, performed his show to
the joy of all children present.
“My wife Princess Katherine and I cherish the tradition of
making our home a place that unites people regardless of their religion or
ethnic origin. Children are the future of our country, and we have to invest in
that future emitting love and joy in any way we can” – Crown Prince told the
children after wishing them a warm welcome.
Beside His Royal Highness, His Excellency Mufti Haji Hamdee
Jusufspahić also addressed the attendants, “Thank you for the great honour of
having us here today. This is the historic day, and you will be in our hearts
forever,” Mufti Jusufspahić said.
The Children’s Choir of Islamic Community performed short
programme as a present to Their Royal Highnesses. |
