MRS PUTIN, MRS LAURA BUSH, MRS BARROSO AND MRS CHIRAC MEET WITH HRH CROWN PRINCESS KATHERINE IN PARIS

Paris 18 January 2007 - HRH Crown Princess Katherine accepted the invitation of Mrs. Bernadette Chirac, wife of French President and HM Queen Silvia of Sweden and joined the International Reunion of The International Centre for Missing and Exploited Children (ICMEC) www.icmec.org supporting the combat against child exploitation held in the Elysee Palace.

HRH Crown Princess Katherine had the opportunity to speak with HM Queen Silvia of Sweden, Mrs. Laura Bush, the first lady of the United States, Mrs. Lyudmila Putin, the first lady of Russia, Mrs. Suzanne Mubarak, the first lady of Egypt, HM Queen Paola of Belgium, Mrs. Margarida Sousa Barroso, wife of the President of the European Union Commission, HE Mrs. Valentina Matvienko, Governor of Saint Petersburg and Poland's former first lady Jolanta Kwasniewska, exchanging views and opinions how they can unite and organize themselves in order to help the victims of child abuse and abductions.

This was the unique chance for HRH Crown Princess Katherine to elaborate on the situation in Serbia, and the efforts that she has made in cooperation with the Serbian Government with the aim of improving the humanitarian situation in Serbia.

"Safe Houses are of utmost importance for the safety of children, and it is crucial for children to be aware of them," – emphasized Crown Princess Katherine and pointing out that all the ladies present at this Reunion agreed on launching the Central Place in Europe where would be educated and trained those who would help in developing the SOS Child line project, initiated by HRH Crown Princess Katherine in October 2005.
