SERBIAN ROYAL COUPLE HOSTS FOREIGN INVESTORS IN THE WHITE
PALACE
Belgrade, 29 January 2007 – TRHs Crown Prince Alexander II
and Crown Princess Katherine hosted a reception for representatives of foreign
companies who are present on the Serbian market.
“Thank you for investing in our country. We definitely need
more investments and we encourage you to bring more of your business partners
here, but nevertheless we are especially grateful to you, who had the courage to
invest first,” HRH Crown Prince Alexander II said in his speech to the group
that counted with the presence of representatives of British-American Tobacco,
Salford, Hypo Group, GTC, EFG Eurobank, Holcim, Lafarge, National Bank of
Greece, Telenor, Governor of the National Bank of Serbia Mr. Radovan Jelašić,
Advisor to Serbian Prime Minister Mr. Vladeta Janković, President of EKI
Investment and former minister for privatization Mr. Aleksandar Vlahović,
President of the Board of Societe Generale Yugoslav Bank and former minister of
foreign economic relations Mr. Goran Pitić, and Mr. Srdjan Janićijević, Managing
Director of Politika Newspapers and Magazines, amongst many other members of the
diplomatic corps, advisory bodies to the Crown, Serbian and foreign institutions
and associations.
HE Mr. Milan Parivodić, Serbian Minister of Foreign Economic
Relations, also addressed the guests, saying that the “boring election campaign”
that just ended is a sign that Serbia is becoming a stable country. He
encouraged the foreign investors to invest safely in the Serbian market and
thanked them for trusting the Serbian economy and for having the courage to
invest in it. |
