“THE THREE MUSKETEERS AND QUEEN’S DIAMONDS”

CHARITY PLAY IN ATHENS IN AID OF “CHILDREN HELPING CHILDREN” EASTER CAMPAIGN

Athens, Saturday 10 February, 2007. Lifeline Hellas Humanitarian Organization organized, as part of the “Children helping Children” Easter campaign in co-operation with ELLINIKI THEAMATON who kindly offered this charity play performance, the theatrical play “The Three Musketeers and Queen’s Diamonds”, based on the classical novel by Alexander Dumas, in a special adaptation directed by Mrs. Carmen Ruggeri, the most famous director of children theatre in Greece.

The objective of this unique initiative through this charity performance, which has as a central message the motto “One for all and all for one”, is that all proceeds of the performance will be directed towards supporting Orphanages and Institutions for Children with Special Needs in Serbia.

Our target is to stimulate children’s interest and to get involved, by catching their attention with feelings of compassion, fellowship and solidarity for the children of former conflicts that are silently suffering the negative consequences. Holidays are even more cruel when you feel alone and forgotten. In every endeavor that touches the world of children we must all contribute as much as we can.

The play which was full of adventure, action, love and mystery kept the interest of the audience till the end. A performance with beautiful dialogues, exquisite set up, songs and dancing, many and very well tailored costumes, music special written for the performance and swordfight choreography by masters of fencing. The children were thrilled by the performance not only due to its quality but also in combination that it was the first time that this famous book of worldwide literature became a theatrical play in Hellas.

Prior to the performance the children who attended brought gifts, for the children of the orphanages and Institutions for Children with Special Needs in Serbia, which were gathered and will be sent to Belgrade in order to be distributed for Easter celebration attended by 2000 orphan children that is organized every year at the White Palace by HRH Crown Princess Katherine Foundation.
