PRESENTATION OF THE ROYAL CULINARY SCHOOL PROJECT
Belgrade, 19 March 2007 – Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince
Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine hosted today a reception in honour of
uniting two National Culinary Associations and presentation of the project Royal
Culinary School.
The Culinary Association of Serbia, whose patron is HRH Crown
Princess Katherine, and the National Association of Cooks will join together to
form the National Culinary Union and in that way become a member of the World
Culinary Association.
On this occasion the Culinary Union promoted their first
project, The Royal Culinary School, which is being launched in cooperation with
The Foundation of HRH Crown Prince Alexander for Culture and Education and HRH
Crown Princess Katherine Foundation.
This project is a unique opportunity for the children and
youth without parental care to experience the creativity of gastronomy and take
cooking into consideration as their future profession.
“The gathering of our two Culinary Associations is a big step
for the future of this profession. It is about time that our country presents
the beauty our National cuisine at competitions worldwide. The project Royal
Culinary School will give the children and youth from homes for children without
parental care the opportunity to experience this beautiful profession. I hope
that I will have a chance to enjoy their food in the best Belgrade and World
restaurants” – emphasized Crown Prince Alexander II in his speech.
The First Private High School for Hospitality and Tourism
gave a scholarship and Faculty of Science from Novi Sad also donated two
scholarships as a support to this project.
At the reception were also present representatives of the
Diplomatic Corps, Directors of the Touristy schools, Hotel owners and many other
distinguished people from all fields of Tourism. |
