ROYAL COUPLE GIVE GIFTS TO MORE THAN 1500 ORPHANS

Belgrade, 5 April 2007 – Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine hosted Easter receptions during the day at The White Palace for more than 1500 children from all over of Serbia.

Besides Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine, this traditional reception for children without parental care, Roma children, and disabled children was attended by His Grace Bishop Lavrentije of Sabac and Valjevo, as well as Mrs. Giraudi President of The children of Frankie Association, whose Patron is HSH Prince Albert of Monaco and Mrs. Papachristidi a friend of The Royal Couple and philanthropist.

Speaking about the importance of Easter, The Crown Prince emphasised that we have to preserve tradition and that the children that are welcome to The White Palace need our love not only today, before Easter, but each and every day of the year.

“Dear children, I am very happy to have you here today and to have Bishop Lavrentije. My wife, Princess Katherine provided these lovely presents with the aid of Lifeline Hellas and friends of good will from Greece and Serbia”- emphasized the The Crown Prince in his address to the little children and wished them happy holidays.

Princess Katherine emphasised that the love that she and The Crown Prince have for all the children of Serbia is great and that the gifts from HRH Crown Princess Katherine Foundation is just a small symbol of that love.

His Grace Bishop Lavrentije of Sabac also greeted the children with a word about Easter, and gave his blessing to all participants of the receptions.

After the ceremonial welcome the children had the pleasure to enjoy in Easter egg hunt in the Park in front of The White Palace.
