THEIR ROYAL HIGHNESSES HOST THE ROYAL FENCING CLUB
“KARADJORDJE”
Belgrade, 26 May 2007 – Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince
Alexander II and Princess Katherine hosted this morning children from the Royal
Fencing Club “Karadjordje”, marking its second anniversary.
As Their Royal Highnesses had entered the salon, the
fanfares, played by the nicely uniformed children orchestra, sounded to announce
their arrival.
In his welcome address, Crown Prince Alexander thanked
everyone for coming and extended his congratulations to the club.
“Fencing is a noble art and a wonderful sport that needs to
be preserved. Sportsmen are the best ambassadors of our country. I would like
you to successfully represent Serbia abroad”, said the Crown Prince.
Mr. Djordje Vlajic, chairman of the Club, spoke about the
results achieved, and said that the club has bigger plans in the future.
The most interesting part of the event was the demonstration
of young fencers, who performed a sabre demonstration and the Floret.
After that, the children took a group photo with the Royal
Couple, and they together shared a birthday cake. |
