CROWN PRINCE ALEXANDER VISITS BELGRADE STOCK EXCHANGE
Belgrade, 12 June 2007 – HRH Crown Prince Alexander II
visited today the Belgrade Stock Exchange and was introduced to the activities
and of this institution.
He was warmly welcomed by Mrs. Gordana Dostanic, the Director
of the Belgrade Stock Exchange and her closest associates.
HRH Crown Prince Alexander II said that it will give him
great pleasure to give his support for the development of this institution,
pointing out that he is very pleased with the young team of experts running this
institution.
The Belgrade Stock Exchange was initially founded on 21
November 1894, while the first transactions were performed in January 1895. The
last transactions were concluded in April 1941. Officially, the Belgrade Stock
Exchange stopped working in 1953, as an unnecessary institution.
The Belgrade Stock Exchange was founded once again in 1989,
as the Yugoslav Capital Market and in 1992 it was renamed into the Belgrade
Stock Exchange, continuing the tradition of the former one, which used to be one
of the largest Stock Exchanges in Europe. |
