CROWN PRINCE CONGRATULATED THE LATEST MEDAL WINNERS FOR
SERBIA
Belgrade, 16 July 2007 – His Royal Highness Crown Prince
Alexander congratulated the latest medal winners for Serbia – two gold medals in
chess problem solving, a gold medal in basketball, a silver medal in athletics –
long jump, and 2 bronze medals in shooting.
In his letter to Mr. Srdjan Spasojevic, the president of the
Chess Federation of Serbia, Crown Prince Alexander stated: “My wife, sons and I
would like to extend to you our sincere congratulations for bringing two gold
medals to Serbia from the Czech Republic – one won by the national team at chess
problem solving, the other won by Mr. Bojan Vuckovic in the individual
category”.
Serbia was once again proud to receive the gold medal at the
European Junior Basketball Championship for men. Just recently, their female
counterparts had also brought home a gold medal. In his letter to Mr. Vlada
Vukoicic who led the team, the Crown Prince stated: “It is most astonishing that
these young men born in 1987, were able to produce such excellent results in
spite of the hardships endured by our country in the period of their childhood
and growing up. Only through dedication and unity can we achieve such wonderful
results in other areas of life as well. Please extend our sincere
congratulations to all the members of our national team who have achieved this
victory for the Serbian basketball and Serbia in general”.
Serbia is also richer with one more silver medal in the sport
of Athletics, the Long-Jump discipline. In his letter to Mr. Milan Spasojevic,
the President of the Executive Board of the Athletic Federation of Serbia, Crown
Prince Alexander stated: “My wife, sons and I would like to extend to you our
sincere congratulations for bringing back home the silver medal from the World
Youth Championships held in the Czech Republic, at the Long Jump discipline.
Please convey our best wishes to Ms. Ivana Spanovic, who jumped 6.41 meters,
which is 4 cm more than her best result this year”, concluded Crown Prince
Alexander in his letter.
Last but not least, the Serbian shooters made us all happy
with 2 bronze medals at the European championships in Granada, Spain. Nemanja
Mirosavljev won 3rd place and so did the national male team in the 3x40 small
caliber gun discipline. In his letter to Mr. Obrad Stevanovic, president of the
Executive Board and president of the Shooting Federation of Serbia, the Crown
Prince has expressed his family’s congratulations.
Crown Prince Alexander is very proud of our young men and
women who promote Serbia in such a wonderful way, and wishes all our athletes a
lot of success in the future. |
