YOUNG PRINCE ALEXANDER HOSTS ROYAL KENDO CLUB

Belgrade, 20 July 2007 – Young Prince Alexander, patron of the Royal Kendo Club, hosted today the selected members of this club who gave an impressive Kendo demonstration at the White Palace. Kendo is a Japanese martial art.

The ceremony was attended by TRH Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine.

Mr. Djordje Trojanovic one of the founders of the club and president of the Kendo Federation of Serbia was also present.

The 30-minute demonstration included the kata, the strikes, the shiai or kendo fight, and the iaido, which is done with a steel sword and without a partner.

The participants wore full protective gear.

After the demonstration Prince Alexander, who is very interested in martial arts, met with the members of the Royal Kendo Club and then they were given a tour of the Palace.
