CROWN PRINCE ALEXANDER II AND PRINCESS KATHERINE HONORED
GUESTS AT 17TH ANNUAL CONVENTION SERBIAN UNITY CONGRESS IN SAN FRANCISCO
Belgrade, 29 October 2007 – Their Royal Highnesses Crown
Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine attended as honoured guests the
17th Annual Convention of the Serbian Unity Congress, which was held October 26
- 28 at the Park Fifty Five Hotel in San Francisco, California.
The four day long Convention concluded with a gala dinner
where His Royal Highness Crown Prince Alexander addressed the gathering as
honoured guest, underlining in his speech the importance of bringing Serbian
people at home and abroad closer together.
“I fully support the valiant efforts of our leaders in
dealing with the extremely difficult task to save Kosovo. I find it very
distasteful that a solution has been imposed in advance by the United States
administration, which is not the democratic and proper way. Both the United
States and the Ahtisaari effort have been most unfair and in violation of the
human rights of our people in Kosovo. We have to rally behind our government and
show unity so it can continue its difficult task. Our government must be united
and work hard on planning and strategy. We Serbs must have friends everywhere
and that includes Russia, the United States and the European Union. We cannot
live in isolation in South Eastern Europe. That would lead to national and
economic suicide. Therefore, no one has the right to divert or complicate the
future of our people. European Union it is. The people want it, and they will
get it. – emphasized Prince Alexander in his speech.
Crown Prince exclaimed that he and Princess Katherine are
proud to be a part of the Annual Convention of Serbian Unity Congress fighting
for stability, prosperity and democracy in Serbia.
During the four day convention, speeches were also delivered
by Mr. Vuk Jeremic, Foreign Minister of Serbia, and Mrs. Milica Cubrilo,
Minister for Diaspora of the Republic of Serbia. |
