OPENING OF ROYAL TENNIS CLUB FOR THE WINTER SEASON
Belgrade, 18 November 2007. – Their Royal Highnesses Crown
Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine marked the winter season
opening of the Royal Tennis Club of Serbia today at the tennis court of the
Sport Club Banjica.
The winter season opening of the Royal Tennis Club was
attended by Mrs. Jelena Gencic, the President of the Club, Mr. Miljan Ilic, the
General Manager of the Tennis Club Banjica, and the members of the Royal Tennis
Club, as well as other guests, friends and supporters of the Royal Tennis Club
of Serbia.
His Royal Highness Crown Prince Alexander II addressed said
that one of his aims is to stimulate young talent in the sport and educational
areas, giving them the opportunity to develop and to become high profile experts
and champions in their field.
Other speakers at the opening who underlined the importance
of existence of the Royal Tennis Club for the youth of Serbia were Mrs. Jelena
Gencic, as well as Mr. Miljan Ilic.
As part of the official ceremony, Crown Prince Alexander II
presented a cup to the best tennis players of the Royal Tennis Club.
Crown Prince Alexander II established the Royal Tennis Club
with the goal to promote tennis as a sport and stimulate young talent. |
