WHITE PALACE RECEPTION IN HONOUR OF ROYAL PURVEYORS

Belgrade, 8 December 2007 – Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine hosted tonight at the White Palace representatives of companies that were awarded the warrant of Royal Purveyors.

Eighty companies received the right to use the Royal Warrant for their products.

The title of Royal Purveyor is awarded to companies that have, for a number of years, been providing support to the Royal Compound with their products or services. It is a specific form of recognition and gratitude. The decision to award warrants is made by the Head of the Royal House, HRH Crown Prince Alexander II, whilst all the details regarding the use of the Royal Warrant, are regulated by separate contracts.

This tradition exists in all European Parliamentary Monarchies. In the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, it was used for the first time during the reign of King Alexander I, and has now been re-introduced.
