THEIR ROYAL HIGHNESSES MET WITH HIS HOLINESS PATRIARCH OF
MOSCOW AND ALL RUSSIA ALEXEI II
Belgrade, 21 January 2008 – Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander II
and Crown Princess Katherine visited today His Holiness Patriarch of Moscow and
All Russia Alexei II in Danilovsky (St. Daniel Monastery), the residence of His
Holiness.
On this occasion also present were HE Mr. Stanimir Vukicevic, the Ambassador
of Serbia to the Russian Federation, His Grace Bishop of Herzegovina Grigorije,
Mr. Dragomir Acovic, member of the Privy Council, Mr. Radomir Zivanic, owner of
Verano Motors and Mr. Dejan Bodiroga, famous Serbian basketball player.
This was a great opportunity to discuss the existing Kosovo and Metohija
issue as well as further works in the interior of the St. Sava Temple at Vracar,
Belgrade.
Crown Prince Alexander II thanked His Holiness for helping the relationship
between Serbian and Russian people and Churches to become tighter.
His Holiness Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia pointed out that he fully
supports the stand of the Serbian and Russian Orthodox Church on the Kosovo and
Metohija issue, and reminded everyone about the close relationship between our
two peoples throughout history.
Later this day, Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Katherine will receive an
honorary award for her humanitarian work. The official award ceremony intended
by His Holiness the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Alexei II and the
Trustee Council of the International Foundation
for the Unity of Orthodox Christian Nations (IFUOCN), will take place at the
Cathedral of Christ the Saviour. |
