THEIR ROYAL HIGHNESSES ACTIVITIES ON SAINT SAVA DAY
Belgrade, 27 January 2008 –Their Royal Highnesses Crown
Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine marked today Saint Sava Day
with a number of manifestations dedicated to the father of Serbian spirituality
and the founder of the Serbian Orthodox Church, Prince Rastko Nemanjic or Saint
Sava.
In the morning, Their Royal Highnesses attended a Liturgy at
the St. Sava Church at Belgrade's Vracar, served by His Grace Bishop Atanasije.
After that, Their Royal Highnesses were guests at the Slava
(patron saint day) of the Hospital for the Prevention and Cure of
Cerebral-Vascular Diseases St. Sava in Belgrade.
Since Saint Sava is the patron saint of all schools, Their
Royal Highnesses were very honoured to attend the Slava (patron saint day) of
the Primary School Dusko Dugalic, the first specialized school for mentally
challenged children in our country. On this occasion Their Royal Highnesses
delivered sweets to the children, a donation HRH Crown Princess Katherine
Foundation.
Their Royal Highnesses will also visit the Primary and
Secondary School “St. Sava” in Umka, where they will attend a ceremony in honour
of School Patron Saint Day and deliver sweets to the children as a donation from
the HRH Crown Princess Katherine Foundation.
In the evening, Their Royal Highnesses will attend, along
with many other dignitaries, the traditional Saint Sava Academy held at the Sava
Centre |
