ROYAL COMPOUND OPEN AGAIN FOR VISITORS
Belgrade, 1 April 2008 – The Royal Compound is open once
again for tours in 2008. Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander II
and Crown Princess Katherine are pleased to call on all interested citizens
to visit the Royal Compound. The organisation of regular tours continues in
cooperation with the Tourist Organisation of Belgrade every weekend from 1st
of April to 31st of October.
This year’s first official tour was organized today for
representatives of the media. After the tour, a press conference was
organised. HRH Crown Prince Alexander II, Mr. Goran Petkovic, State
Secretary for Tourism, Mrs. Gordana Plamenac, Director of the Tourist
Organisation of Serbia and Mrs. Olivera Lazovic, Director of the Tourist
Organisation of Belgrade addressed the media.
HRH Crown Prince Alexander II emphasised: “I am very
happy that we are opening another tourist season. The visitors will be able
to see the beauties of the Royal Compound, which is our national, historic,
and cultural monument. This has been made possible thanks to the cooperation
with the Tourist Organisation of Belgrade”.
The Crown Prince also added that cooperation has been
established with tourist agencies so that foreigners who come to our city
can also see the Palaces.
Visiting the Royal and White Palaces is organized in such
a way that visitors with professional tour guides will get acquainted with
the history, art and culture in a nice two-hour walk through the Royal
Compound. The tour includes the magnificent Royal and White Palaces and the
Royal Chapel dedicated to the patron Saint of the Royal Family - St. Andrew
the First Called.
Every Saturday and Sunday from 1 April to 31 October in
two regular periods 11am and 2pm, the Royal Compound will be open to the
public. There is also the possibility to organize group tours during working
days with previous appointment. For all information and reservations,
visitors must visit the Tourist Informative Centre, Makedonska 5, Belgrade
or call 011/33-43-460. The limit per group is 50 people.
Schools, students and pensioner associations interested
in visiting the Royal Compound should call the Office of HRH Crown Prince
