CROWN PRINCESS KATHERINE VISITS GYNAECOLOGY AND
OBSTETRICS CLINIC
Belgrade, 7 May 2008 – HRH Crown Princess Katherine, in
the company of Mrs. Radmila Hrustanovic, Assistant to the Acting Mayor of
Belgrade, visited the Clinical Centre of Serbia, Clinic for Gynaecology and
Obstetrics (GAK) where she delivered ten hydraulic hospital beds, two tables
for gynaecological check-ups, ten laboratory chairs and waiting room
furniture.
The hospital beds were imported to Serbia thanks to the
generous help of the following companies: Dontrade, Société Generale Bank,
Raiffeisen Bank, AIK Nis Bank and Alpine that once again supported the HRH
Crown Princess Katherine Foundation.
On this occasion, Crown Princess Katherine together with
Prof. Dr. Nebojsa Djukic, Director of the Clinic and Mrs. Radmila
Hrustanovic, Assistant to the Acting Mayor of Belgrade announced the
reconstruction of the Cervical Cancer Prevention Unit. Funds for this
project were collected during the Humanitarian Fashion Show organised in
collaboration with Mrs. Radmila Hrustanovic and Fabrika Fashion agency in
February this year.
Crown Princess Katherine emphasized in her speech that
“it is of great importance for the women in Serbia to have a place where
they can get all necessary information regarding the prevention of cervical
cancer, since this disease is easily treated, but only in the early phases.
It is our job to raise awareness of the nation, and to help women in Serbia
fight this deadly disease”.
Speeches were also delivered by Prof. Dr. Nebojsa
Radunovic, Director of the Clinic, Mrs. Radmila Hrustanovic, Assistant to
the Acting Mayor of Belgrade, Prof. Dr. Vojko Djukic, Director of the
Clinical Centre of Serbia, Mrs. Vesna Mandic, Director of the Fabrika
Fashion agency, Prof. Dr. Vesna Kesic, Head of Department for the
Gynaecologist Oncology and Mr. Dragan Pavlovic, Advisory of the Managing
Board of the Raiffeisen Bank.
