THE ROYAL COUPLE AND THEIR HUMANITARIAN ACTIVITIES IN
CHICAGO
Belgrade, 15 May 2008 - Their Royal Highnesses Crown
Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine visited Chicago, Illinois,
USA where they attended the Slava (patron Saint Day) of Saint George The
Great Martyr at the Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Cathedral, and
organised a charity dinner at the Ritz Carlton Club for the Lifeline
humanitarian organisation.
On Sunday, 11 May, Their Royal Highnesses attended the
Slava (patron Saint Day) celebration of the Branko Radicevic Choir,
dedicated to St. George The Great Martyr, that took place at the Holy
Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Cathedral.
After the church ceremony, held by Father Djuro Krosnjak
in the presence of His Eminence Metropolitan Christopher of Middle and
Western America, as part of the programme, Their Royal Highnesses, together
with 200 invitees attended a banquet.
After the banquet, His Royal Highness Crown Prince
Alexander II paid respects to his father, His Majesty the late King Peter II
of Yugoslavia, at the Saint Sava Monastery in Libertyville, Illinois. King
Peter II is the only King in the world buried on American soil, whose
remains will one day be brought back to
Oplenac, Serbia.
Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander II and
Crown Princess Katherine also attended a charity dinner organised for
Lifeline humanitarian organisation, the patron of which is HRH Crown
Princess Katherine. The dinner took place at the Ritz Carlton Club in
Chicago in the presence of numerous personalities from the business and
cultural life of Chicago, including Serbs as well as Americans.
