THEIR ROYAL HIGHNESSES RECEIVE CHILDREN PARTICIPANTS OF
DAYS OF CYRILLIC MANIFESTATION
Belgrade, 31 May 2008 - Their Royal Highnesses Crown
Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine received today the best
children along with their teachers from the Days of Cyrillic manifestation,
which was held for the seventh time in Bavaniste.
Over 2,000 pupils submitted their essays. Apart from the
essays, there was an exhibition in Bavaniste that consisted of penmanship,
calligraphy, embroidery and a traditional cultural programme was also
performed.
Traditionally, the winners of the manifestation had an
opportunity to visit the Royal Palace. Crown Prince Alexander II addressed
the children wishing them a warm welcome to the Palace, saying that the
doors of the Palace are always open to everyone, especially to the youngest
visitors. The Crown Prince also said that the children are the future of
this country and that “they should continue to preserve our language, our
way of writing and tradition”.
The winners of the event read out their essays, and the
children from the cultural ensemble Zarko Zrenjanin, age 5 to 15, performed
a series of folklore songs and dances. |
