MEMBERS OF ACADEMIES AT RECEPTION AT THE ROYAL PALACE

 

 

Their Royal Highness Crown Prince Aleksandar II, Princess Katarina and Prince Philip hosted a reception last night at the Royal Palace in Belgrade for more that hundred full and corresponding members of the Academies of sciences and arts of Serbia, Montenegro and the Republic of Srpska.

H.R.H. Crown Prince Aleksandar II welcomed all those present and expressed his pleasure for gathering of “so many knowledge, gifts and skills at one place”.

“Ladies and Gentlemen, you were elected by your peers to be part of the history of your Nation and pride of your people. Today, perhaps more than ever before, your knowledge and your work represent both hope and support. First, because those elected to be immortal do not aspire for  ephemeral aims, second - because knowledge is a fundament of every right decision and a landmark in the infinite search for the truth.”

In the name of those present, academician Nikola Hajdin expressed his gratitude to Their Royal Highnesses.  Visibly moved he said it was great honour for all those present to be at the Royal Palace and expressed his pleasure that academicians from all around our country gathered here.

Members of the Crown Council academicians Ivan Antić, Živojin Bumbaširević, Dragomir Vitorović, Milan Gašić, Milorad Pavić, Predrag Palavestra, Slobodan Perović, Branko Popović and Matija Bećković,  Prof. Dr. Pavle Nikolić, Prof. Dr. Slobodan Vitanović and Arch. Dragoljub Acović attended the reception.
