CROWN PRINCE ALEXANDER AT THE PASSING OUT CEREMONY OF NEW SERBIAN OFFICERS

Belgrade, 13 September 2008 – His Royal Highness Crown Prince Alexander II, accompanied by Mr. Vladan Zivulovic, member of the Crown Cabinet, attended today the passing out ceremony of Military Academy Students of the 128th and 129th classes of officers of the Serbian Armed Forces.

HRH Crown Prince Alexander and Mr. Vladan Zivulovic were welcomed by Mr. Dragan Sutanovac, Minister of Defence and Major General Vidosav Kovacevic, Head of the Military Academy.

Speeches were delivered by Mr. Boris Tadic, President of Serbia, and Mr. Dragan Sutanovac, Minister of Defence.

The honouring of the flag ceremony was followed by the reading of promotion decrees and the awarding ceremony.

The ceremony was held in front of the Serbian Parliament. Also attending were General Chen Bingde, the Chief of the People’s Liberation Army of the People’s Republic of China, Lt. General Zdravko Ponos, Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, Dr. Mirko Cvetkovic, Prime Minister of Serbia, Mr. Bozidar Djelic, Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration and Minister of Science and Technological Development, Prof. Dr. Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic, Speaker of Parliament, Mr. Nebojsa Bradic, Minister of Culture, Mr. Ivica Dacic, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Mr. Radovan Jelasic, Governor of the National Bank of Serbia, Dr Slobodan Milosavljevic, Minister of Trade and Services, His Grace Bishop Atanasije of Hvostno, Dr. Gordana Matkovic, Advisor to the President of Serbia, representatives of the diplomatic corps, and others.
