THEIR ROYAL HIGHNESSES AT “THE WALK OF HEALTH”

Belgrade, 21 September 2008 – Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine attended today “The Walk of Health” which was organized by “Serbian Heart Foundation” for World Heart Day.

“The Walk of Health” gathered people in front of the Victor monument at Belgrade Fortress where HRH Crown Prince Alexander, Prof. Dr. Tomica Milosavljevic, Minister of Health, Mrs Snezana Samardzic-Markovic, Minister of Sport, famous basketball player Vlade Divac, Prof. Dr. Miodrag Ostojic, President of the “Serbian Heart Foundation”, Mr. Ivan Curkovic President of Serbian Olympic Committee and marathon champion Olivera Jeftic, gave speeches.

In his speech, HRH Crown Prince Alexander emphasised: “My wife and I are actively supporting many projects whose aim is to increase awareness of our people about health. In order for our nation to be healthier; our heart to be healthier, we all must do more on promoting a healthy way of living.”

After the official part, the participants walked to Nikola Pasic Square where the closing ceremony took place. World Heart Day is marked 21 September with the aim to attract attention and increase awareness about the importance and prevention of cardiovascular diseases.
