HRH CROWN PRINCESS KATHERINE AT B92 CAMPAIGN “RAISE AWARENESS”

Belgrade, 4 October 2008 – Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Katherine participated today in a special TV show “Raise awareness” at the Republic Square in a joint campaign organized by B92 and Avon, for the fight against cancer.

Besides Her Royal Highness the campaign was supported by HE Prof. Dr. Tomica Milosavljevic, Minister of Health of Serbia, Mr. Dragan Djilas, Major of Belgrade, Prof. Dr. Nenad Borojevic, Director of Institute for Oncology and Radiology at the Clinical Centre of Serbia, Kristina Kovač, the composer and songwriter, Jelena Blečić, painter, and many other representatives of the cultural and public life of Serbia.

Avon organized free preventive check-ups. Avon action for breast cancer gave the opportunity for 300 women to make appointments at the Institute for Oncology and Radiology during October. All interested citizens had the opportunity to get free advice on prevention.

The HRH Crown Princess Katherine Foundation is supporting all actions that fight cancer in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, Institute for Oncology and Radiology of Serbia and Katarina Rebraca Foundation. The First International Breast Cancer Conference took place in 22 September in Belgrade Cancer experts from Memorial Sloan – Kettering Cancer Centre in New York came especially for this excellent conference. In addition with support from Hello Magazine the Princess Katherine Foundation also started the awareness against cervical cancer.
