ROYAL COUPLE AT THE 53RD INTERNATIONAL BELGRADE BOOK
FAIR
Belgrade, 20 October 2008 – Their Royal Highnesses Crown
Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine accompanied by Prof
Dragoljub Kavran and Mr. Dragomir Acovic, members of the Crown Council
attended today the opening of the 53rd International Belgrade Book Fair.
This year’s guest of honour is Japan.
The Fair was opened by the writer, Mr. Dragoslav
Mihailovic, and on behalf of the Ambassador of Japan, Mr. Natsuki Ikezawa, a
Japanese writer welcomed the guests.
Japan will present modern Japanese literature, as well as
an exhibition of posters about the modern Japanese architecture Kyoto. In
addition there will be a lecture about the best known modern Japanese
writer, Mr. Haruki Murakami, and a series of Japanese films in the Yugoslav
Cinema Museum.
More than 800 local and international publishers will
participate on the 53rd Belgrade Book Fair. The publishers will have
displays in Belgrade Fair Halls 1 and 14, at the space of 13,000 square
meters.
The Belgrade Book Fair will be held from 20 to 26 October. |
