THEIR ROYAL HIGHNESSES ATTEND 40TH DYSTROPHIC ANNIVERSARY

Belgrade, 22 October 2008 –Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine attended today a ceremony marking the 40th anniversary of the Union of Dystrophic of Serbia, held in Belgrade City Hall.

The following addressed representatives of more than 50 disabilities organizations: Deputy Mayor of Belgrade, Mrs. Radmila Hrustanovic and Mr. Vladimir Pesic, Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Policy. The audience included representatives of the Ministry of Culture and Ministry of Defence.

Crown Princess Katherine delivered a speech and emphasized: “Your important anniversary should once again bring the focus of our public to the fact that support for people of disabilities is not just the society’s obligation towards almost ten per cent of its’ population, but the necessary precondition of building better and happier society.”

Before the ceremony, Their Royal Highnesses used the opportunity to speak with representatives of different associations of people with disabilities from all ever Serbia.
