RECEPTION IN HONOUR OF 125TH ANNIVERSARY OF CYCLING IN
BELGRADE
Belgrade, 3 January 2009– Their Royal Highnesses Crown
Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine hosted today at The Royal
Palace a reception celebrating 125th anniversary of cycling in Belgrade.
HRH Crown Prince Alexander delivered a speech
emphasizing: “Cycling is a sport I deeply appreciate and support. It is
suitable for youth and adults; it is beneficial for everyone and people
should be encouraged to choose it as a sport”, emphasized Crown Prince
Alexander, wishing the Cycling Federation of Belgrade success for the
future.
Beside the Crown Prince speeches were also delivered by
Mr. Nebojsa Popov, President of the Cycling Association Belgrade, who gave a
plaque to Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess
Katherine and Mr. Ataniosis Tsimas, President of the Balkan Cycling
Federation.
A tour through the Palaces followed the ceremony, where
everyone had the opportunity to hear about the history of the Royal Dynasty
Karadjordjevic and the cultural heritage of the Royal Compound. |
