LIFELINE HUMANITARIAN LUNCH IN ATHENS IN AID OF THE MODERNIZATION OF DELIVERY ROOMS IN SERBIA

Athens, 3 February 2009 – A Lifeline Hellas Humanitarian Organization lunch took place today in Athens at the Grande Bretagne hotel in the presence of Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine of Yugoslavia and Mrs. Alison Andrews daughter of Crown Princess Katherine was present supporting Lifeline.

The aim of this Humanitarian Lunch is to help the urgent modernization of the Serbian hospital delivery rooms in support of the “SAFE DELIVERY” project. The Royal Serbian Medical Board of the HRH Princess Katherine Foundation in collaboration with doctors from hospitals around the country is undertaking a programme study.

It was a unique traditional event, organized in Athens for the fifth year in a row, which included the participation and support of Greek companies. Mrs. Emy Trikardos magically decorated the Grand Ballroom of Grand Bretagne as a snowy landscape. The luncheon attendees were welcomed by the President of the Board of Directors of Lifeline Hellas, Mr. John Tricardos, HRH Crown Prince Alexander and HRH Crown Princess Katherine whose speeches enhanced this event.

Wonderful speeches were given about medical work in Serbia and the Foundation of Princess Katherine by Prof. Dr. Nebojsa Radunovic, Director of the Institute for Gynecology and Obstetrics at the Clinical Centre of Serbia and Prof. Dr. Alexander Ljubic, Deputy Director of the Institute for Gynecology and Obstetrics at the Clinical Centre of Serbia.

The humanitarian lunch the slogan was “from children to children”, and there was exquisite entertainment programme, with children from the ballet department and a choir from Polka Froelen Educational Group. A special film showing the humanitarian work of HRH Crown Princess Katherine was shown.

Lifeline Humanitarian Organization supports people in need in Serbia regardless of religion or ethnic origin.
