ROYAL COUPLE AT THE VUK AWARD CEREMONY IN THE CITY ASSEMBLY

Belgrade, 11 February 2009 – Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine attended today the ceremony of the “Exceptional Vuk Award” in the City Assembly.

Speeches were delivered by Mr. Ljubivoje Rsumovic, President of the Cultural Educational Community of Serbia and famous Serbian writer, Mrs. Nadica Momirov, State Secretary of the Ministry of Culture and Mrs. Olja Ivanjicki, distinguished Serbian painter and President of the jury.

The Vuk award for 2008 was given to: Academy of Arts in Belgrade, Mr. Dragoslav Pavle Aksentijevic, RTS crew of the show “forgotten minds”, Mr. Djordje Malvrazic, publicist and journalist, Mother Fevronija from Pec Patriarchy, Mr. Miroslav Buca Mirkovic, writer, Academic Dusan Radic, composer, Mr. Slobodan Rakitic, author, Mr. Sava Stojkov, painter and Mr. Miodrag Cupic, writer.

Beside Their Royal Highnesses the following were also present at the event: His Eminence Metropolitan Amfilohije, HE Mr. Dante Coelho de Lima, Brazilian Ambassador, as well as representatives of Serbian cultural and public life.
