TRADITIONAL CHARITY FASHION SHOW AT THE WHITE PALACE
Belgrade, 14 February 2009 – Their Royal Highnesses Crown
Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine hosted a traditional
Humanitarian Fashion Show at the White Palace. This year the show was
organized with Fashion studio Click.
The revenue from ticket sales will be used to acquire
equipment for the Daily Centre for the Prevention of Cervical Cancer at the
Institute for Gynaecology and Obstetrics of the Clinical Centre of Serbia.
In this year’s fashion show, haute couture collections
were presented by the Serbian designer Darko Kostic, Italian designer
Annarita Celano, Greek Fashion House Kathy Heyndels and a children
collection by the Todor fashion house.
His Royal Highness Crown Prince Alexander II welcomed
guests and expressed his satisfaction with the humanitarian effort that
citizens of the Serbian capital showed tonight.
Beside His Royal Highness speeches were delivered by Doc.
Dr. Nevena Karanovic, State Secretary in the Ministry of Health and Prof.
Dr. Darko Plecas, Deputy Director in the Institute for Gynaecology and
Obstetrics of the Clinical Centre of Serbia.
The general sponsor of the event is Family Market by
Verano, while the media patrons are RTV B92 and Hello magazine.
Kathy Heyndels is a well-known Greek Fashion Company
which was established in 1983. The owners of the company are Yiannis Tongos
and his mother Kathy Heyndels. Kathy Heyndels owned her first atelier in
Brussels in 1956 and then returned to Greece in 1983. The Company designs
and produces three lines: Prêt-a-Porter de luxe, Haute Couture and Wedding
Dresses, and a special line of Kathy Heyndels accessories: shoes, belts and
bags.
Kathy Heyndels holds two fashion shows every year with
over 1500 guests attending. Kathy Heyndels also participates twice a year in
the Greek Fashion Week with its Prêt-a-Porter line. Recently Kathy Heyndels
participated successfully at the Prêt-a-Porter exhibition in Paris. The
Company has five boutiques at exclusive locations in Athens.
Annarita Celano studied in Italy and got two degrees: one
in art history from the University Federico II in Naples, and the other in
Fashion Design from Marangoni in Milan. She first created her own line
ANNARITACELANO in 1993, which was sold worldwide in exclusive stores.
Annarita Celano then went on to design for some of the best know names in
fashion: Luella – London, Missoni – Milano, Bebe – Los Angeles, Custo –
Barcelona.
Since 2007, she is once again based in Milano, where she
creates and shows her limited edition of exclusive evening dresses under the
name CELANO. Her evening dresses will be worn by several celebrities during
this year’s Oscar awards.
Darko Kostic was born in Belgrade in 1980, where he
finished textile school and is currently studying at the College for
textiles. He first showed his collection at the Belgrade Fashion Week in
1999, and has since then been a regular participant of this event. Twice, he
has closed Belgrade Fashion Week, the most prestigious Serbian fashion
event.
He presented his collections twice at the Slovenian
Biennale for Young Designers. In 2002, Darko Kostic began cooperation with
the fashion company Di Fashion as a designer of Exception Atelier. In May
2003, he presented his collection “Where Dragons Fly” in Milano at the
General Consulate of Serbia and Montenegro. Since last year, Darko Kostic
has been selling his collections in Vienna.
