THE ROYAL COUPLE AT THE OPENING OF WORLD
UNIVERSITY PRESIDENTS SUMMIT
Belgrade, 3 April 2009 Ė Their Royal Highnesses
Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine together with
Mrs. Pat Fisher and Mr. Robert Valentine, friends of the Royal
Couple attended today the official opening of the World university
presidentís summit in Belgrade from 2 - 5 April.
HE Mr. Zarko Obradovic, Minister of Education,
Prof. Dr Branko Kovacevic, Rector of Belgrade University, H.E. Mr.
Bozidar Djelic, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Science and
Technological Development, Mr. George Killian, President of the
International University Sports Federation (FISU) and Professor
Martin Perl, Nobel Prize laureate in Physics for 1995 have addressed
the guests. Also present were: HE Mr. Arthur Koll, Israeli
Ambassador to Serbia, HE Mr. Wolfgang Josef Maas, German Ambassador
to Serbia, Academic Nikola Hajdin, Head of SANU, Prof. Dr. Radoslav
Bubanj, Rector of the University of Nis, Prof. Dr. Milos Djuran,
Rector of the Kragujevac University, Prof. Dr. Radmila
Marinkovic-Neducin, Rector of Novi Sad University, His Eminence
Monsignor Stanislav Hocevar, Roman Catholic Archbishop of Belgrade
and many others.
This yearís World university presidents summit
will address important topics regarding development of higher
education, such as Universities as Leaders of Innovation Activities,
Universities as Centres for Transfer of Technology, Role of the
University in Solving Social, Economic and Health Problems, Bologna
Process - Experiences and Challenges and many others
Their Royal Highnesses will host a reception for
participants of World university presidentís summit tonight at 7.30
pm at the White Palace.
