ROYAL COUPLE DELIVER HUMANITARIAN AID TO
HOSPITALS IN SREMSKA MITROVICA AND SOMBOR
Belgrade, 9 April 2009 – Their Royal Highnesses
Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine visited today
the City of Sremska Mitrovica, the village Sasinci, the City of Novi
Sad and City of Sombor where they delivered humanitarian aid to the
hospitals and met with the mayors of these municipalities.
The Royal Couple first visited the Municipality
of Sremska Mitrovica where they met Mr. Branislav Nedimović, Mayor
of Sremska Mitrovica. The welcome reception took place in the
Municipality, in the presence of religious leaders, officials and
business people of Sremska Mitrovica and the region.
Following the visit Their Royal Highnesses Crown
Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine accompanied by Mr.
Branislav Nedimovic, Mayor of Sremska Mitrovica visited the hospital
where they delivered ten electronic beds and repro medical material.
These donation made possible by Lifeline Humanitarian Organization
in Chicago (Illinois) which is under the patronage of HRH Crown
Princess Katherine.
Then the Royal Couple visited Color Press Group
in Novi Sad where they had the opportunity to tour around their
offices.
During their visit to City of Sombor, Crown
Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine visited the Mayor of
Sombor, Mr. Dusan Jovic in the City Assembly. A reception at Mayors
office took place in the presence of members of the City Council and
representatives of Orthodox, Catholic, Jewish and Carmelite
Churches.
The Royal Couple, together with Mr. Dusan Jovic,
Mayor of Sombor, Mr. Nemanja Delic, President of the City Assembly
and Dr. Lazar Rakic, City Secretary for Health visited the hospital
in Sombor where they delivered an incubator to the Paediatric
Department. This donation is a gift of HRH Crown Princess
Katherine’s son and daughter in law Mr David Andrews and Mrs
Angeliki Andrews, on the occasion of birth of their first son
Alexander George Michael. |
