PRINCESS KATHERINE WITH AMBASSADOR BRINKER
ATTEND RECEPTION FOR EU DAY AT CITY HALL
Belgrade, 11 May 2009 – HRH Crown Princess
Katherine together with a special guest HE Ambassador Nancy Brinker
from the United States and her son Mr. Eric Brinker attended this
evening a reception for EU Day at the City Hall. Ambassador Brinker
and Mr Eric Brinker are guests of Crown Prince Alexander and Crown
Princess Katherine and are staying at the Royal Palace.
The Crown Princess and her guests were welcomed
at City Hall by HE Mr. Josep Lloveras, Head of Delegation of the
European Commission.
The reception was also attended by: HE Mr. Boris
Tadic, President of Serbia, HE Mr. Bozidar Djelic, Deputy Prime
Minister and Minister of Science, HE Snezana Samardzic-Markovic,
Minister of Sport and Youth, HE Mrs. Snezana Malovic, Minister of
Justice, HE Prof Dr. Tomica Milosavljevic, Minister of Health, Mr.
Miroslav Miskovic, President of Delta Holding, Mrs. Milka Forcan,
Vice-President of Delta Holding, members of the Diplomatic Corps and
representatives of the Cultural and Business life of Serbia.
Ambassador Brinker is the founder of the
well-known Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation an organization
named after her only sister, Susan, who died from breast cancer in
1980 at age 36. Ambassador Brinker was also United States Ambassador
to Hungary from 2001 to 2003 and Chief of Protocol of the United
States from 2007 to the end of the George W. Bush administration
Ambassador Brinker during her visit to Belgrade
11-15 May will meet people form the area of breast cancer in order
to establish a good relation with Serbia and offer assistance and
knowledge in fighting this terrible disease.
On Wednesday, 13 May at 9am a press conference
will take place at the White Palace in the presence of Ambassador
Brinker, HRH Crown Princess Katherine, Dr. Tomislav Stantic, State
Secretary for Health and Prof. Dr. Dragana Jovanovic, Belgrade
Secretary for Health. Following the conference Ambassador Nancy
Brinker will give a lecture on the topic “Imagine life without
breast cancer”. This event will gather people who are contributing
in fighting this disease. |
