THE ROYAL COMPOUND AND THE NIGHT OF MUSEUMS
Belgrade, 16 May 2009 – The Royal Compound in
Belgrade participated for the first time this year in “The Night of
Museums“ by organizing an exclusive exhibition ”From the Royal
Kitchen“ in the former kitchen of the White Palace. This building
which was closed for thirty years, is open to public again for “The
Night of Museums“, with an exhibition that shows culinary history
spanning from Monarchy to the Broz era.
“From the Royal Kitchen” exhibition displays
authentic items such as old utensils, ice-containers, a wood stove,
table mixer, unique kettles, casseroles, dippers, ladles, coffee
grinders, silverware, crystal glasses and an outstanding collection
of Rosenthal’s with various ideological emblems engraved over time
which testifies our history in the twentieth century.
This exhibition will be part of the regular tours
organized by the Touristic Organisation of Belgrade every weekend
