HIS ROYAL HIGHNESS ATTENDS 50th ANNIVERSARY OF PRIMARY SCHOOL “SKADARLIJA”

Belgrade, 28 May 2009 – His Royal Highness Crown Prince Alexander II attended this evening the 50th Anniversary celebration of Primary School “Skadarlija” in Dom Sindikata.

HRH Crown Prince Alexander was welcomed by the School Principal, Mr. Andjelko Kunarac, teachers and many pupils.

As a part of the ceremony speeches were delivered by HRH Crown Prince Alexander, Mr. Zoran Kostic, Deputy of the Minister of Education and Mr. Andjelko Kunarac, principal of the school.

In his speech to pupils and professors, HRH Crown Prince Alexander reminded children of the words of one of greatest Serbian educators, Dositej Obradovic: “The dignity of an educated person lays not in his or her message that others before us have thought reasonably, but that we ourselves have the duty to think and work for the benefit of all.” HRH Crown Prince Alexander than wished all the children and teachers much success in their work.

After the official ceremony, HRH Crown Prince Alexander spent a pleasant time in lively conversation with pupils and teachers of the school.
