CROWN PRINCE ALEXANDER AND CROWN PRINCESS KATHERINE INVITED BY VICE PRESIDENT BIDEN OF THE UNITED STATES AT HIS RESIDENCE

Washington, 6 June 2009 – Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine were last night guests of Vice President of the United States Mr. Joseph Biden and his wife, Dr. Jill Biden, PhD in their residence in Washington D.C.

The Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine met with Vice President Biden and Dr. Jill Biden PhD. The Crown Prince discussed with the Vice President areas in which the Serbian partnership can develop with the United States. The Vice President expressed his expectations of a great future and respect for Serbia, and how much he liked his visit to Serbia.

During the dinner Vice President Biden introduced Crown Prince Alexander and Princess Katherine to the guests and said that the Crown Prince had brought democracy to Serbia. In addition the Vice President said that Their Royal Highnesses had done a lot to help Serbia.

The dinner was in honour of Ambassador Nancy Brinker founder of the Susan B. Komen Foundation. Both the Vice President and his wife Dr. Jill Biden PhD gave speeches that praised Ambassador Nancy Brinker for her outstanding contribution in fighting breast cancer.

Ambassador Nancy Brinker in her speech spoke enthusiastically about her trip to Serbia last month and about the work that Their Royal Highnesses do for the people of Serbia. Ambassador Brinker also said she has raised one billion three hundred million US Dollars to fight breast cancer since the death of her sister Susan from breast cancer 28 years ago.

Ambassador Brinker gave a dinner the night before (Thursday) in honour of Their Royal Highnesses and thanked them for their hospitality last month when she came to Belgrade. Amongst the guests where Senator Lieberman and his wife, who was one of the presidential candidates for the United States and the Secretary of Transportation Mr Ray LaHood, the Ambassador of Serbia to the United Sates Mr Vladimir Petrovic and others.
