THEIR ROYAL HIGHNESSES AT RECEPTION IN HONOUR OF
MR. THOMAS KENEALLY AND ATTEND SWEDISH-SERBIAN GALA CONCERT
Belgrade, 24 June 2009 – Their Royal Highnesses
Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine attended a
reception and public reading in honour of Mr. Thomas Keneally,
author of “Schindler’s Ark”, at the Kolarac Foundation tonight.
This event was organized by H.E. Ms. Claire
Birgin, Australian Ambassador to Serbia, who introduced Mr. Keneally
and his spouse to Their Royal Highnesses.
After that, Their Royal Highnesses attended a
Gala Concert “From Mozart to ABBA – a European Promenade” also at
the Ilija M. Kolarac Foundation, hosted by H.E. Mr. Nils Krister
Bringeus, Swedish Ambassador to Serbia, and organized in the run-up
to the Swedish European Union Presidency.
This extraordinary concert was marked by superb
performances of Ms. Jadranka Jovanovic, famous Serbian
mezzo-soprano, Mr. Peter and Patrik Jablonski, famous Swedish
pianists, and the Symphony Orchestra of Belgrade National
Television, led by Maestro Bojan Sudjic.
Both of these fine cultural events, which marked
Belgrade’s cultural week, were attended by many members of the
diplomatic corps, theatre and music personalities, as well as many
politicians. |
