UZICE TRAGEDY – CROWN PRINCE EXTENDS CONDOLENCES
FOR THE LOSS OF LIFE
Belgrade, 4 September 2009 – His Royal Highness
Crown Prince Alexander II extended his deepest condolences to Mr.
Jovan Markovic, Mayor of Uzice and to the families of the workers
who lost their lives in an accident that occurred in the ammunition
factory "Prvi partizan" in Uzice.
“It was with great sadness I received the
information about tragedy in factory “Prvi partizan“ in which seven
workers lost their lives. I am extending my deepest condolences to
you and to the families of those who died in the explosion. To those
injured in the accident I wish a quick recovery and their return to
their families and their jobs“, wrote Alexander II in his letter to
Mr. Jovan Markovic, Mayor of Uzice.
According to the latest data, six men and one
woman died and fourteen persons were injured in the explosion that
occurred last night in the ammunition factory in Uzice. Luckily,
thanks to the quick response of the fire brigade and the local
police a much bigger tragedy was prevented. |
