HRH CROWN PRINCESS KATHERINE AT B92 AND AVON CAMPAIGN “RAISE AWARENESS”

Belgrade, 26 October 2009 – Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Katherine together with Professor Hedvig Hricak, Head of Radiology of the Sloan-Kettering Memorial Cancer Centre and President of Lifeline Humanitarian Organization in New York, which is under the patronage of HRH Crown Princess Katherine, participated today in a special TV show “Raise awareness” at Republic Square in a joint campaign organized by B92 and Avon, for the fight against cancer. They ere accompanied by Dr. Dershaw and Dr. Lee from Sloan-Kettering Memorial Cancer Centre.

Besides Her Royal Highness the campaign was supported by Mr. Dragan Djilas, Mayor of Belgrade, Doc. Dr. Nevena Karanovic, State Secretary for Health in the City of Belgrade, Prof. Dr. Nenad Borojevic, Director of the Institute for Oncology and Radiology at the Clinical Centre of Serbia, Mrs. Katarina Rebraca, Mrs. Bojana Ristic, Director of the American Chamber of Commerce, Dr. Zoran Rakocevic, Director of Radiology at the Institute for Radiology and Oncology of Serbia, Mrs. Svetlana Vukajlovic, Director of the Republic Fund for Health Insurance, Mrs. Kristina Kovac, singer, Snezana Dakic, journalist and many others.

Avon and B92 organized free preventive check-ups and all interested citizens had the opportunity to get free advice on prevention.

The Princess Katherine Foundation is initiating various actions in the field of cancer prevention and cancer awareness. The Second Breast Cancer Conference is taking place 25-26 September in the presence of cancer experts from Memorial Sloan – Kettering Cancer Centre in New York that came especially for this conference.

On Sunday 27 September a mobile digital mammography machine will be delivered to the Clinical Centre in Nis.

On Monday 28 September at the shopping centre USCE a promotion stand will be opened for the whole of October.

On Tuesday 29 September at the White Palace a humanitarian auction will be organized in collaboration with Tigar Company.
