PINK RIBBON SHOPPING MONTH NOW OPEN AT USCE
SHOPPING CENTER
Belgrade, 28 September 2009 – HRH Crown Princess
Katherine Foundation together with Katarina Rebraca Charity Fund in
collaboration with the Ministry of Health, Secretariat for Health of
the City of Belgrade, Usce Shopping Centre and with the support of
TV92 launched today Pink Ribbon Shopping Month at the Usce Shopping
Centre.
The opening remarks were given by HRH Crown
Prince Alexander II, HRH Crown Princess Katherine, Dr. Nevena
Karanovic, State Secretary in the Ministry of Health, Prof. Dr.
Dragana Jovanovic, Secretary for Health of the City of Belgrade,
Mrs. Katarina Rebraca, and Mrs. Smiljka Dokic Jeremic, Director of
Marketing of MPC Properties.
“I believe that this is ideal location for
raising awareness and promotion of the Serbia against cancer
Campaign, and women would be in a position to get all necessary
information about prevention in a very relaxed atmosphere”, said
state secretary in the Ministry of Health Dr Nevena Karanovic.
Prof. Dr Dragana Jovanovic, City secretary of
health, said that City Secretariat of health of Belgrade would have
their counselling teams during second week of “Pink ribbon” month in
Usce Shopping Centre from 12 to 4 pm, together with special model
for practising breast self examination.
“Opening of this stand is realization of my pink
dream, well known in Serbia for over four years now. It was not a
coincidence that I was born on October 1, came back to live in
Serbia, and started a Foundation that is raising awareness among
women, advocates better conditions regarding medical checkups, and
better treatment of breast cancer. This stand is designed and
dedicated to all women of Serbia” said Ms Katarina Rebraca.
Ms. Smiljka Dokic Jeremic, Director of Marketing
of MPC Properties has said: “It is my great pleasure to greet you on
behalf of MPC Properties Company and USCE Shopping centre, the
biggest shopping centre in the Balkans, with more than 140 shops,
visited by tens of thousands of people every day, and over a million
visitors since the opening. We believe that all that people would
show their power and support this humanitarian action for fighting
the breast cancer. We are happy that Usce Shopping Centre will be
painted in pink during October, and we will, via this promo stand,
actively participate and contribute”. I would like to warmly thank
HRH Crown Princess Katherine and our dear friend Katarina Rebraca
for their initiative and organizational efforts”.
Princess Katherine said in her speech: “It is my
great pleasure to see that we are all united in the fight against
this terrible disease. This is the desire I’ve taken to heart in my
personal mission of for medical diplomacy. Only by working together
can we spread the word around and make sure our women, the women of
Serbia get the message loud and clear! Breast cancer can be cured!
Death should not be an option! Please take care of yourselves, so
you can continue to care for your loved ones. Early detection is the
best prevention! Please remember that, and please have regular
checkups”.
Princess Katherine also mentioned: “My heart is
full, when I know I am on the right track and that I can stand here
facing all of you and that I will continue working relentlessly to
make a difference no matter what”.
At the stand, launched in aid of early awareness
of breast cancer, there will be a special programme during the month
of October which is the International breast cancer awareness month.
Products were especially designed in aid of
breast cancer campaign will be available for the public. Tomasevic
jewellery will present a new line of jewellery, Tigar will launch
two new models of rubber boots designed with pink ribbon that will
be on sale in October, Company Art Ival will promote a new line of
chocolate products and Roaming-Samsung and MTS will present the Pink
Samsung S 7350 mobile phone that was donated to Katarina Rebraca
Fund for the month of October.
