HRH CROWN PRINCESS KATHERINE OPENED TRADITIONAL
“OPLENAC GRAPE PICKING” FESTIVAL
Topola, 9 October 2009 – HRH Crown Princess
Katherine opened today traditional 46th “Oplenac Grape Picking”
Festival in Oplenac, near Topola. Many distinguished guests were
present at the opening ceremony, among whom HRH Prince Vladimir and
HRH Princess Brigitte, His Grace Bishop of Sumadija Jovan and His
Grace retired Bishop of Alaska Nikolaj, H.E. Ms. Denise de Hauwere,
Ambassador of Belgium, Mr. Dragan Jovanovic, President of Topola
Municipality and Mr. Miladin Gavrilovic, Director of King Peter I
Foundation.
HRH Crown Princess Katherine expressed her
pleasure that this important touristic and cultural festival has
gathered so many participants and guests this year, and added: “I am
very happy that HM King Peter I’s Foundation is taking part in this
important event. This Foundation was among first projects that HM
late King Peter I of Serbia has started, and it is still very much
alive for the benefit of this region and whole of Serbia”.
After opening ceremony was over, the ceremonial
procession of all participants was organized through the City of
Topola. |
