HRH CROWN PRINCESS KATHERINE AT OPENING OF NEW
EUROBANK EFG CENTRE AND “COINS AND BANKNOTES THROUGH THE ROYAL AGES
OF SERBIA” EXHIBITION
Belgrade, 14 October 2009 – Her Royal Highness
Crown Princess Katherine was this evening at the opening of the new
Eurobank EFG Centre, and accompanying exhibition “Coins and
Banknotes through the Royal Ages of Serbia”, organized under
auspices of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Alexander II. The red
ribbon at the opening of new Eurobank EFG Centre was jointly cut by
Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Katherine, Mr. Radovan Jelasic,
Governor of National Bank of Serbia, Mr. Nicholas Nanopoulos, CEO of
Eurobank EFG Ergasias SA and Mr. Philippos Karamanolis, President of
Executive Board of Eurobank EFG Serbia.
The guests were also welcomed by Mr. Giorgio
Pradelli, General Manager of International Division of EFG Group.
Among distinguished guests from Serbia and Greece, there were H.E.
Mr. Demosthenes Stoidis, Ambassador of Greece to Serbia,
representatives of Serbian Government and business community.
Speaking about the exhibited coins and banknotes
of the Serbian Royal Heritage, HRH Crown Princess Katherine
emphasized: “If you watch carefully those coins and banknotes they
will tell you a story, a story about the struggle of Serbia to
become a modern European country. And you will see that this
struggle was not in vain”.
The exhibition “Coins and Banknotes through the
Royal Ages of Serbia” will be open for visitors during next eight
days in Eurobank EFG Centre in Belgrade, in Vuka Karadzica Street,
and it encompasses five periods in Serbian monetary history - Money
in the time of Obrenovic Dynasty, Money in time of Karadjordjevic
Dynasty, Money in the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenians, Money
in Kingdom of Yugoslavia and Money in time of the King’s Government
in Exile. |
