CROWN PRINCE ALEXANDER II AND CROWN PRINCESS
KATHERINE ATTEND DECORATION CEREMONY FOR PRESIDENT MEDVEDEV AT THE
PATRIARCHY AND ALSO ATTEND COMMEMORATIVE EVENT AT THE SAVA CENTER
Belgrade, 20 October 2009 – Their Royal
Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine
attended today a ceremony at the Patriarchy of the Serbian Orthodox
Church in Belgrade, where the President of Russian Federation Dmitry
Medvedev was decorated with the Medal of Saint Sava 1st Degree by
His Eminence Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro and the
Littorals, who presented the distinguished guest on behalf of His
Holiness Patriarch Pavle and the Holy Synod of Serbian Orthodox
Church.
H.E. President Medvedev thanked His Eminence
Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Littorals for the high
honour. Also present at the ceremony were H.E. Mr. Alexander
Konuzin, Ambassador of Russian Federation to Serbia, H.E. Prof. Dr
Bogoljub Sijakovic, Minister of Religion, H.E. Mr. Vuk Jeremic,
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Members of the Holy Synod, His Grace
Bishop of Nis Irinej, His Grace Bishop of Bac Irinej, His Grace
Bishop of Dalmatia Fotije and His Grace Bishop of
Zahumlje-Hercegovina Grigorije and His Grace Bishop of Hvostano
Atanasije, as well as numerous distinguished guests.
Later on Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince
Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine, together with members of
the Crown Council, Mr. Dragomir Acovic, Mr. Dusan Babac and Mr.
Matija Beckovic, as well as the state officials, members of
diplomatic corps, members of the business community and
representatives of cultural life of Serbia attended the
Commemorative Academy at Sava Centre on the occasion of 65th
Anniversary of liberation of Belgrade in Second World War.
On this occasion H.E. Mr. Boris Tadic, President
of Serbia and H.E. Mr. Dmitry Medvedev, President of Russian
Federation addressed over 3000 guests at Sava Centre.
