MEDIA BRUNCH IN HONOUR OF SERBIAN UNIVERSITY
CAREER CENTRES CO-ORGANIZED BY USAID COMPETITIVENESS PROJECT AND THE
CROWN PRINCE ALEXANDER II FOUNDATION FOR EDUACATION
Belgrade, 26 October 2009 – A media brunch was
organized today 11:00am – 12:30 pm at the White Palace with the aim
to inform the public about the activities of the Student Career and
Advising Centres of Universities in Serbia which were founded with
the support of the Crown Prince Alexander II Foundation for
Education and the USAID Competitiveness Project.
In attendance were representatives from the
university Student Career and Advising Centres, USAID and several
media representatives. The Crown Prince Alexander II Foundation for
Education Board Member, Professor Dr. Ljiljana Markovic served as
the host of the event.
The participants were addressed by the following
speakers: Prof. Dr. Ljiljana Markovic, Professor at the University
of Belgrade; Mrs. Marilyn Schmidt, Deputy Director of USAID in
Serbia; Mrs. Ivana Kovacevic, State Secretary of the Ministry of
Youth and Sport; Professor Dr. Slobodan Arsenijevic, Rector of the
University of Kragujevac; and Mr. Marko Bankovic, Director of the
University of Kragujevac Career Centre. Dr. Ana Trbovic, USAID
Serbia Competitiveness Project Policy and Workforce Development
Director moderated the event and lead the question and answer
session which followed the speeches. The focus of the speeches and
subsequent discussions revolved around the importance of career and
guidance centres for students as well as improving and promoting
cooperation between students, universities and the business world.
Also in attendance were: Prof. Dr. Dragan Antic,
Rector of the University of Nis, representatives from the Belgrade
Open School (BOS) and Singidunum University in Belgrade accompanied
by representatives of their respective career centres. |
