CROWN PRINCE ALEXANDER AT CEREMONY FOR
CONSECRATION OF RESTORED MONUMENT IN HONOUR OF SOLDIERS WHO DIED
IN FIRST WORLD WAR
Belgrade, 20 November 2009 – His Royal
Highness Crown Prince Alexander II accompanied by Mr. Dragomir
Acovic, member of the Privy Council and Prof. Dragoljub Kavran,
member of the Crown Council attended today a ceremony of
consecration of the restored monument built in honour of the
soldiers who lost their lives in the First World War.
The blessing was performed by His Eminence
Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro and Littoral and His
Eminence Metropolitan of Minsk and Slutsk, Patriarchal Exarch
for All Belarus Filaret and Head of the Russian Orthodox Church
in Serbia Father Vitaliy Tarsjev and His Grace Bishop of
Hvostano Atanasije Rakita.
Following the ceremony, wreaths were laid by
Mr. Djordjevic, Advisory to the President of Serbia, State
Secretary in the Ministry of Labour and Social Politics, Deputy
Mayor of Belgrade, HRH Crown Prince Alexander II, HE Mr.
Alexander Konuzin, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to
Serbia and Mr. Siarhei Chichuk, Chargé d’Affaires of Belarusia.
After that speeches were given by His
Eminence Metropolitan Amfilohije, His Eminence Metropolitan
Filaret and HE Ambassador of Russian Federation Alexander V.
Konuzin.
This ceremony is a very important event for
Serbian-Russian relations and is in memory of the military
brotherhood between Russia and Serbia. |
