CROWN PRINCE ALEKSANDAR II AND PRINCESS KATARINA ATTEND CELEBRATION OF
REPUBLIC DAY OF THE REPUBLIC OF SRPSKA Their
Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Aleksandar II and Princess Katarina visited
today the Republic of Srpska and attended in Banja Luka the ceremony,
commemorating Republic Day and Saint Patron Day of Republic of Srpska, St.
Archdeacon Stephen. In
Banski Dvor in Banja Luka, Their Royal Highnesses were warmly welcomed by
Serb Republic President Mr. Mirko Šarović,
Assembly President Mr. Dragan Kalinić and Prime Minister Prof. Dr.
Mladen Ivanić. Expressing his gratitude for the warm welcome, Crown
Prince Aleksandar II wished their hosts “safe, prosperous and peaceful
future of the Republic of Srpska through the further empowerment of
democracy and traditions of our history and civilization.” Crown
Prince Aleksandar II laid a wreath at the Monument to fallen soldiers of the
Republic of Srpska and Monument to the victims of World War two. In
the name of Crown Prince Aleksandar II, Prof. dr. Pavle Nikolić laid a
wreath at the Monument to civil victims of the Republic of Srpska. Their
Royal Highnesses visited afterwards pediatric and child surgery wards at
Clinical Hospital Center in Banja Luka where they delivered blankets to the
hospital and candies and toys to the children. Princess
Katarina said that she would continue with her efforts to make the situation
in our health services better and promised to provide a respirator for
pediatric ward. After
touring of the hospital, Crown Prince Aleksandar II and his wife met Mr. Živko
Radišić, the Republic of Srpska representative at the Parliament of
Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and attended
formal reception at Banski Dvor. After the introductory speeches of the
Republic of Srpska officials, Crown Prince Aleksandar II addressed those
present. Congratulating
Republic Day and Saint Patron Day of the Republic of Srpska, Crown Prince
Aleksandar II said: “The future of
the Republic of Srpska is not only great and difficult test for you
here, but for all Serbs wherever they live. It is also a big test for the
International Community that will show if it is really a community and if
it’s norms are the model for the new age.” “I wish you peace, prosperity and democracy, I wish to you unity between yourselves and with all those you live with, I wish you gift of wisdom, virtue of love and serenity of justice”, emphasized Crown Prince Aleksandar II. Numerous distinguished figures from political, cultural and public life of the Republic of Srpska and Federal Republic of Yugoslavia attended the reception.
