ROYAL COUPLE ATTEND FUNERAL OF ACADEMICIAN MILORAD PAVIC

Belgrade, 3 December 2009 – Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine together with members of the Crown Council attended today the funeral of Mr. Milorad Pavic, full member of Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts and member of the Crown Council.

The funeral service was served by His Grace Bishop of Sabac Lavrentije and His Grace Bishop of Hvostano Atanasije at the New Cemetery in Belgrade.

On behalf of the Crown Council eulogy was delivered by academician Svetlana Velmar-Jankovic and on behalf of Serbian Academy of Science, academician Nikola Tasic, Vice President of the Academy.

The funeral was attended by the Mayor of Belgrade, Mr. Dragan Djilas, members of Serbian Academy of Science and Arts (SANU), Mr. Vuk Draskovic, former Minister of Foreign Affairs, as well as many representative of the cultural and public life of Serbia who came to pay their respects to one of the most prominent and most popular Serbian writers of the Twentieth Century.
