THE ROYAL COUPLE AT THE OPENING OF THE
TRADITIONAL INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S CLUB (IWC) BAZAAR
Belgrade, 6 December 2009 – Their Royal
Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess
Katherine attended today opening of the traditional Charity
Bazaar organized by the International Women’s Club (IWC) at the
The IWC was happy to announce that 35
countries answered their call for this Humanitarian Event, with
the purpose to support local NGOs working with vulnerable
populations in Serbia.
The opening speeches were delivered by Mrs.
Ljiljana Miljanic - Cassim, Honorary Consul General of Sri Lanka
and President of the International Women’s Club and Mr. Andjelko
Trpkovic, Director of the Belgrade Fair.
Also present at the opening of the Bazaar
were H.E. Mr. Alexander V. Konuzin, Ambassador of Russian
Federation, H.E. Mr. Jean-François Terral, Ambassador of France,
H.E. Mr. Ahmet Suha Umar, Ambassador of Turkey, H.E. Mrs. Negcha
Lhouvum Mukhopadhaya, Ambassador of India and H.E. Mr. Wei
Jinghua, Ambassador of People’s Republic of China.
Last year, the Bazaar raised €106,000 and
attracted more than 6000 visitors.
The opening was also attended by the members
of Diplomatic Corps as well as a large number of visitors.
